Each referral is assessed on an individual basis.  Patients have access to a range of services.

Family Support

The Family Support Team is made up of two staff members and volunteers.

The team leader and her colleague both have counselling qualifications.

The volunteers that work in the Family Support Team have undergone appropriate and on-going training.

The Family Support Service provides:

  • Emotional support to patients and/or their families/carers at any point during their illness journey from diagnosis of a terminal condition onwards.
  • Bereavement support to families

Complementary Therapies

The therapies we offer are:

  • Aromatherapy
  • Massage
  • Reflexology
  • Acupuncture
  • Reiki

All of the therapists who work at Garden House Hospice are fully qualified practitioners.

Education

The sharing of expertise is part of the commitment the hospice has for ensuring the best possible care for patients and their families.

The educational programme is available for the hospice team and is also open to other health care professionals involved in the care of patients with terminal illness.

Spiritual Care

At Garden House Hospice we seek to support each person, recognising that not only is physical care important but emotional and spiritual care too.

A chaplaincy team is available to support patients and family members whether they have particular religious and spiritual beliefs or none.
